About
Vedema Productions is an civil non-profit organization that specializes in designing, organizing, and implementing cultural and educational programs and events, with a focus on provincial areas.
Our mission is to create opportunities that empower people living both within and outside the urban fabric, especially women and people living in areas with limited access to educational and cultural activities.
Through oral history, cultural heritage, arts, and new technologies, we seek to discover ways in which we can coexist between village and city, helping communities that tend to be abandoned and creating a positive impact on them through our programs.
The word "vendema" primarily means harvesting of fruits. Its etymological "root" is found in Venetian – vendema – which in Italian means grape harvest. In Crete, it is associated with the olive harvest, while in other regions it is associated with various fruits.
In the Greek language of recent centuries, "vedema" as a word took on a broader meaning, as it signified a good harvest from fields or trees, so a good year for the fields is very aptly described through this word.
For us, "vedema" is the good year, the right season, and the appropriate time to follow our dreams.
